Finally...... a broken bed!

When I started to rend my one and half room back on July 2011. Everthing looks OK at least for the first five monthes. I has a good habit to sleep between 10:00PM and 6:00AM everyday; I wake up without using any alarm clock. Then, starts on Febuary 2012, I got a neighbour moved in the upper floor. He (or she?) waked up everyday at 5:00AM using often a music alarm clock and started walking around and makes very loud noise until 6:30AM. I reported to landlord office. They said I should knock the door and negociate with my neighbour. I want to upper floor one morning at 5:15AM, hope I could found who it was. Believed it or not, it was so quiet in the corridor there, I could even not decide which door to knock! So far I want upper floor 4 times, not figure out which door to knock yet......

And that was just beginning. Started on August 2012, just around the balcony replacement operation (see detail in my September 3 blog text) . Another bad neighbour appears: I was waked up sometime by upper floor during middle of the night and then could not go back to sleep anymore -- new neighbour snoring so loud that both 4 coins of my room got recho for it! That was even worse now: I could not knock any door because at the side where it supposed to be the source of snoring is just a corridor! I have no choice but started move my bed to the middle of my room every evening, then push it back to the normal position next morning(the room is too small to keep my bed at the middle!), and repeat that move day by day.

Then, on Friday moring January 11 2013, event after moving my bed to the middle position as usual, I was still waken up by that snoring again, at 3:14AM! This time, I was forced to make a 180 degree turn of my bed. When I finally decided to get up at 7:07 (In fact, I did not sleep after 5:00AM as the upper floor waked me up already. But I still stay in bed to rest my eyes and thinking my plans.) , my iron framed bed was broken! (picture 1)

The worst part was: it was not broken at any of the two sides, but at the middle -- where should be its strongest fix point. That means I could not even fix it! (picture 2) When I bought this bed, I thought it will work at least for 5 years, it will, if I keep it at the same position in my room. But now, just after one and half year, it is broken forever. What do you want? I decided to sleep on the floor with a cushion. At least now, it is easier to turn it around in my little room, so I can save a part of my sleep from my bad neighbours! (picture 3)

How frightful to have a neighbour who snores!

Strange feelings

Today I got my day off. The sky was grey like all the normal Canadian winter days (by the way, this year the first snow in Montreal appears on Nov 4th, which is very, very late record). I tried twice to continue my E project character design, but my hands shadow was projected on the paper, it was so dark that I could not even see the lines that I was drawing. Then, just by thinking there must be something else to do, I found a metal chocolate box behind my books. That was a long story about this box. Back to the end of 1980s, when my Mom left China to meet my father in US. She asked what I want to buy before she goes. I asked with a typical childhood dream -- I want a giant transformer assembled by 6 smaller transformers. That will cost about 100 Yuan, at that period, a engineer such my mother was earn about 700 Yuan per month, and 700 Yuan equals only 100 US dollars. She full filled my wish. I put this giant transformer on top of the biggest range in my room, it accompanied me for next 7 years.

When I left China to join my parents, I left it at my room, together with my collection of 349 books. I was in Canada for more than 10 years. When I finally want back my mother town as a Canadian bachelor with a work visa, my grand mother who lives there was gone. All my books were lost -- I heart rumour said some of my relatives even came in van to take my books from another province. I could not live in my room since it is occupied now by my uncle and his wife. I was living in the loft for the next 3 years. My bed was surrounded by all kinds of old stuffs that my uncle and his family do not need. I found my giant transformer there -- completely broken in pieces. God knows, when I left it, I even not lost a single tag on it! I got a strange feeling -- such as a revenant pay a visit to his tomb. Little by little, I repaired my transformer, except some parts that I could not fix at all, the giant transformer was back on its feet. When my uncle and aunt decided I have to leave the place -- they said they got to move, and I got to move out first. But until today they are still living there -- once my room and my home. I left my old home, I put the giant transformer in 6 parts, then put them in an empty metal chocolate box, enclosed with scotch tap.

What I did not know was, when I came back to Canada 1 year later, I found myself in a similar situation: my parents bought a condor apartment during my absence. My mother told me there was a room for me. But when I was back to Canada, I found out my mother was living in my room. My father occupied the biggest room supposes used by both of the couple. I was sleeping on the hall floor for one whole year. My father forced me left even knowing I have no job during that period. His reason was so funny -- he found me noisy and he need a quiet condition to take a stomach surgery. God knows, I never watched TV, I even use earphones on my computer to listen my music when I was alone at home!

Finally, I rent my own 1 and half apartment and found a job to pay it. Today, I found the metal chocolate box, the same strange feeling came back to pay me a visit as well. I finally have my chance to assemble my childhood friend again. The scotch tap was not removed during all these years. Let it be the witness of ruthless of my bloodlines. I will revenge myself and E project is the most powerful weapon to realize my promise.

Shogun Total War: Problem solved!

Shogun Total War: Problem solved!

Since 2010, I got new PC but got problems to play STW on it.

After tried and retried, after reading  many online forums, today, March 8 2012, I finally got all problems solved for my STW!

For those who never played an old strategy game called Shogun Total War (Not Shogun Total War II)You missed one of the best strategy game ever made.

The reason that I try to keep playing this old game instead of the newest Shogun Total War II is because the campaign map. In Shogun Total War, the campaign map is more like a chess game system. Which gives me direct and quick total control of all army units.

Then started with Rome Total War,EA, developer of this famous Total war game series, adopted a Civilization game system for campaign interface, which I consider as a big mistake instead of an improvement.

Civilization strategy campaign interface asks player spend much more time for the useless character walking/moving (and even talking!) scene. Which I hate so much that I did not play any newer versions of Total War series since RTW. Not mention that I did not play any Civilization series game since I met Civilization I :)According to me, the only success Civilization moving mode game were Heroes of Might & Magic series, Disciples series and Age of Wonders series. Those games did not concentrate on 3D moving show business as EA did for Total War series.

Here are the tips I like to share with all the STW fans.

1. Only STW warlord edition or gold edition works for XP system. Install full version (1.6G) is recommanded.

2. Campaign map: For certain video card, it does not work, for system has Necro codec, it does not work. If have problem with campaign map, please install CCCP codec. Just use it with default settings.Same solution if get freeze problem in throne room.

3. Battle map: that is the biggest problem. I got no control of army during battle. Could not select unit by click on their flags, could not point enemy unit to attack, could not point unit to move to right location... I removed game last year from PC because of these problems.

I just found the solution today!

In default mode, use F3/F4 keys to zoom, sometimes it will solve control problem. But it does not work for 100% sure.

I want to game option and changed video in battle to minimum.
And I finally got my control back! the only problem is I lost  mouse control of camera and get to use arrow keys to move camera "manually".

But it is just a little price to pay in order to get my control back!

Where was I?
Mood:  lazy
Now Playing: Sound of silence

Many may ask where was I during all this time?

I just built my blog and then got lost myself.

Well, lots of things happened.

The reason that I built this blog was I was helping a friend to build his

first blog, so I tried to learn how to build a blog myself :)

Now, I have a Chinese blog built and update every week at:

http://blog.sina.com.cn/zchenh

I lost my job during this period so I am looking for a new position.

All this caused my absence for my English blog so far.

I feel sorry for it and I should spend more time for my English blog.

Wish me luck then :)
